Since 2017, the development of the Bumpstop has been ongoing. It started with an developmental model made of scrap parts. After the first model proved to be successful, the Bumpstop could be a viable piece of technology.

The bumpstop uses a shear-stiffening liquid to activate its adjustable stopping power. The Bumpstop stiffens upon a quick impact, but slowly retracts under low constant force.

The Bumpstop was filed for a US Patent under the USPTO Application Number 16/131,013. It had failed to receive patent rights from the United States Patent Office.

This has not deterred the company from pursuing the design and creation of the Bumpstop.
